NIC Inc. (NASDAQ: EGOV), the dominant provider of eGovernment services, congratulates NIC innovator Dan Chapman for being selected as one of 18 individuals from across the United States to serve on the Presidential Innovation Fellows program in Washington, D.C. Participants were announced today by United States Chief Technology Officer Todd Park during a White House press event. The goal of the Presidential Innovation Fellows program is to bring together top innovators from outside government to work with top innovators inside government to create real and substantial changes that will in a very short time frame benefit the American people, save taxpayers money, and help create new jobs. The program was announced on May 23, 2012, resulting in more than 700 individuals applying to participate.

Of the five projects included as part of the Presidential Innovation Fellows program, Chapman will serve on the MyGov project designed to create a rapid prototype of a streamlined online system that citizens will be able to use to easily access the information and services that are right for them from across the federal government. During the next six months, Chapman will be taking a leave of absence from NIC and serving his country by being dedicated solely to the fellows program.
